We asked our wonderful staff here at JRP Vancouver what tips they would like to share with young performers preparing for an audition. The number one comment had to do with confidence, and body language. Make sure you are standing up straight, and walk in with a smile. When you are in the room hit your mark if there is one. If there is not one, make sure to be far enough back from the auditioner(s) so that they can see all of you, and so you are not hovering right over their desk. that can seem intrusive. You also don't want to be too far away, this can be interpreted as shy, or unsure. So our best advice is to choose a point towards the middle. Far enough away so that they can see you but not pressed up against the wall so as to suggest insecurity. Keep an eye out for more helpful audition tips!
